Halloween Makeup: Old Hollywood Glam

I was invited to a themed birthday a long while ago now, but the outfit I wore, and makeup of course, has stuck with me! So, for this Halloween, I am pulling out my "costume" and dolling myself up- the outfit was so fun, I couldn't only wear it once! The theme was "Old Hollywood Glam," and everyone looked so fabulous; it was amazing! I'll detail below what I used for this makeup look, and include pictures and details of the other pieces of my outfit! Enjoy!

Makeup: Classic red lip, added beauty mark, winged liner, simple neutral eye, and added eyebrows, that I forgot to include :o i knew something was missing!

Foundation: Covergirl trublend in 2/430.
Bronzer: theBalm Bronzer in Bahama Mama.
Highlight: theBalm Highlighter in Mary-Lou Manizer.
Eyeshadows: Virgin all over, Buck in the crease, Sin on the lid from the Urban Decay Naked Palette.
Liner: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Black, Nyx The Curve liner in Black.
Beauty Mark: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Brown
Lips: Nyx Lip Liner Pencil in Hot Red and Wet n Wild Lipstick in 514A.

Pair the makeup look with these other items and achieve this look:

Black Cloche hat, if you also don't have hair! If you do in fact have hair, go for the big Hollywood waves like these:

Red velour long gloves, they go to my elbows:

Cigarette holder, I made mine, but you can buy them at costume stores:

A dress with a high neckline, mine is from Forever 21*:

A fur shawl, I bought a chunk of fabric from my local Joann's but, fur is coming back in for the winter, so you may be able to find something that will work*:

Old costume jewelry with a vintage feel- pearls, crystals, etc.*:

Now your look as an Old Hollywood Glam Girl is complete! Throw on some simple black heels and you are all good to strut your stuff! Strike a pose with that cigarette holder and you instantly turn into a regal, elegant, very chic lady, who somehow has traveled in time to 2014? Whatevs, its Halloween, RULES DO NOT APPLY.

*Please excuse the horrible quality of these photos, I took them on my phone, and in all honesty, I can't be bothered to take the items out of my bag and re-photograph them. So, I've learned my lesson and will be taking pics with my camera from now on! Sorry!

Halloween Makeup: I'm Quite Fawn'd of You, My Deer!

So, Shaaanxo is my favorite beauty guru/ youtuber/ online personality and she has been posting Halloween makeup looks and so I tried my hand at the Deer one. I have to say it came out quite cute, but was harder than I expected, but still pretty easy!
I drew on some really sketchy eyebrows and followed her tutorial the best I could! It was definitely ROUGH, and it will take a little more tweaking to get just right, but overall, I think it turned out good! Shaaanxo's was so much better than my attempt, but I guess that's what you get when you get paid to play with makeup all day!

I definitely wasn't gonna be this for Halloween, but now I'm feeling like I'm totally gonna! At least for one night and the other night I'll be an Old Hollywood Glam, 20s era girl! I went to a themed party and dressed up like the Old Hollywood Glam and it was SO fun! And you still got to feel pretty, so it's easy and what I like to call a halfway-costume! I can't be bothered with full costumes because I'm not that into Halloween really, I know -gasp!- but oh well, I'll write everything I used down below and where I got them and I'll include a link to Shaaanxo's tutorial!

What's in my IPSY Glam bag: October

It's time for IPSY again!!! My favorite time of the month!

Although, I will say, this month I am a little disappointed. Meh. :/

Here's a look at my bag all together! I really like some products, but others I can't use and/or won't use!

If you wanna try out Ipsy for only about 10 bucks a month, here's my link to sign up: #gogetyousome

The Bag: October's makeup bag is a beautiful, rich teal. It is the typical style that Ipsy puts out, with the zip across the front rather than the top, which was weird at first, but I've grown to like this style a lot. The material is a shiny pleather/vinyl type of material that is embossed it seams to appear like a repetition of sqaures. To me, it looks like a tray of ice cubes. In general, I like it. It's another makeup bag to add to the collection. And a collection I have, thanks to my Ipsy subscription.

Item 1: Figs and Rouge Nourishing and Soothing Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin, full size and retails for $6.56 This is something I most likely won't use, #sadlife. I am not a lotion person, as much as I should be, and as much as I want to become one, I'm just not. But, I definitely really like this product. It is made in the UK, which is just cool, and it has a pretty pleasant scent. I wasn't sure about the scent upon first seeing it, but I really do like it. And the packaging is just so cute, it has bright colors and stripes and its for sure a pretty piece to look at, even if I don't use it!

Item 2: Starlooks lip gloss in the color: Guilty Pleasure, sample size, the full size retails for $12. I really like this a lot. The color is perfect for lots of people and its very on trend for the light pink/mauve-y lip right now. And its a good transition color to go from summer to fall. And its just the cutest little size, its about the size of my pinky finger in total. Stoked about this lip gloss the most probably.

Item 3: Epice Purifying Exfoliant, 1oz., the full size (3.3oz) retails for $32. This seems interesting. It says to use it about once a week to exfoliate, so maybe I'll try this in the next few days and see if I like it. Not too excited for this because my skin care routine is non-existent at this point, but maybe I can change? Or is that wishful thinking...hmmm. I'll get back to you on that!

Item 4: Ecru New York Acacia Protein BB Cream (Beauty Balm for Hair) full size, 1oz and retails for $12. Okay, so not excited, because I can't use this. That's the issue with being bald, ya see, we typically can't put products in a body part that isn't there. But this will be heading out to a friend shortly.

Item 5: Jesse's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder Eye Shadow in: Graphite Frost, full size and retails for $3.99. I am also pretty interested in this product! I have been wanting to try Jesse's Girl for a long time and I wanted the eyeliner so bad when it was offered as part of an Ipsy bag! The Graphite Frost color is just as it implies, a dark charcoal, graphite color with a ribbon marble of white running through it. It is very pretty and I really like the packaging. The color payoff leaves a little to be desired, but its awesome when applied wet! And its build-able and will probably work great over Painterly, a MAC paint pot.

In Conclusion: The whole retail value, approximately, based on sizes included is about $35. Which is an awesome deal!! I love Ipsy regardless of being a little unsatisfied with this month's bag, but seriously, every bag can't be unbelievable! I just have product envy over the products I could have recieved. Lol, like an OPI nail polish, 2 different lipsticks, an eyliner, a Smashbox primer sample, etc. But, this definitely won't make me unsubscribe, it just makes me cross my fingers for next month's Ipsy Glam bag.
